Our recent initiative involves an interactive 3D application engineered for the specialized study of airflow dynamics within urban ecosystems. The application permits users to explore a virtual model city while simultaneously adjusting parameters in a real-time fluid dynamics simulation. Uniquely, the simulation integrates a comprehensive database of weather data, enabling wind direction to be inferred based on historical and current meteorological conditions. Users can freely select the data range for these wind probabilities through a user interface element, represented in a wind rose diagram. This granular level of control adds both credibility and adaptability to the simulation. The interactive nature of the application is specifically designed to facilitate collaboration among researchers, urban planners, and engineers. Furthermore, its hands-on approach makes it an excellent educational resource for those looking to gain a nuanced understanding of airflow patterns in complex urban landscapes.
